The instuctor role involved writing a syllabus, daily lesson plans, holding office hours, answering student emails, assigning homework (using MyLab, connect math, or written assignments), grading homework, and making/grading exams and quizzes. GradingGrading for a course involved grading weekly homeworks and in some cases exams. I was a grader for the following courses:
Directed Reading ProgramFor one semester I took part in mentoring a directed reading program project on cryptography. This involved working with an undergraduate mathematics student by meeting weekly and working through an introduction to cryptography book. This often led to other conversations about algebra and number theory. At the end of the semester, this student gave a presentation. AssistingAssisting involved working at a weekly help session, holding office hours, answering student emails, and proctoring exams. I assisted the following courses:
RecitationThe recitation leader role involved holding weekly help sessions for a class. This time was often spent reviewing homework or exam problems and answering questions. I was the recitation leader for the following courses:
Help SessionsRunning the weekly help sessions involved just talking with students about their homework problems or questions they had on class material. I worked a joint help session for the following 3 courses:
Online Co-teachingDuring the current pandemic, Indiana shifted its teaching online for the summer of 2020. I co-taught the following classes entirely online via zoom:
